Storm League is a house league type program that includes a Skill Development component as well as Game Play.  There are several types of Storm League programs, Parent & Mini for 4-5 year olds, Mini Volleyball for 6-8 year olds, Skills & Game Play for 9-11, 12-14 & 14-17. Select Teams are sometimes created from the Skills & Game Play programs.

By focusing time and energy on technical skills and positional game play, athletes will possess the fundamentals to participate in competitive or recreational team based settings like the Storm Select Teams or Competitive Rep program.  Some parts of these program will be Co-Ed.

Storm Parent & Mini is a non-competitive program designed for children 4-5 years old.  This program will be similar to Mini-Volleyball except parents will have the option to participate with their children.  The coaches will help the parents and athletes learn various games and activities which involve aspects that are closely related to Volleyball.  This program is also designed to promote physical literacy, confidence, self-esteem and teamwork!

Storm Mini-Volleyball is a non-competitive program designed for children 6-8 years old.  This program will be high-energy, fun and creative where coaches will introduce the children to various games and activities which involve aspects that are closely related to Volleyball.  Storm Mini-Volleyball is designed to promote physical literacy, confidence, self-esteem and teamwork!

Skills & Game Play is an important component of the Storm League and is designed for 9-17 year olds.  Classes are broken into smaller age groups, 9-11, 12-14 & 14-17. These programs focus on all the specific technical skills that are needed to build a foundation for a well-rounded Volleyball player.  The ratio of skills to game play increases in favour of more game play each week until the athletes are playing games for most of the class. Coaches will teach the technical elements of each skill and then run the athletes through drills to practice what they have learned.  They will also be introduced to positional game play and some simple team systems based on age and ability.

Select Teams is a more advanced program that includes more complex drills and prepares athletes to play at a higher level. Athletes need to tryout or be selected to this program from the Skills & Game Play program. This program is designed for 9-14 year olds. Classes are broken into smaller groups by age and ability, 9-11, 12-14. This program continues to focus on all the specific technical skills that are needed to build a foundation for a well-rounded Volleyball player.  The ratio of skills to game play increases in favour of more game play each week until the athletes are playing games for most of the class. Coaches will teach the technical elements of each skill and then run the athletes through drills to practice what they have learned.
